Explaining a long-running concern again can be tiring. You do not have to move an entire chat history to preserve useful context. Choose what the next conversation needs, then check that any AI-generated summary actually matches your experience. A short handoff should remain something you control.

At a glance

  • Select a starting point for the next conversation rather than the whole archive.
  • Check an AI summary for mistakes and for interpretations presented as facts.
  • Remove unnecessary identifying details before sharing the summary elsewhere.

Four things a new conversation may need

Separate the current situation, the recurring difficulty, what you have already tried and the question you want to explore next. Include earlier events only when they help explain the current topic. Mark uncertain interpretations as 'this is how I understood it' or 'I haven't checked this.' Watch for a summary turning an assumption about someone else's intention, or an unverified diagnosis, into an established fact.

A summary request you can copy and adapt

This is a request for a summary format; it does not connect accounts or automatically transfer data to another app. Try: 'Please make a short summary I can bring to a new conversation. Use four parts: current situation, recurring difficulty, what I tried and how it went, and the next question. Separate facts I stated from your interpretations. Leave out names and contact details.'

An example: a useful starting point

A fictional summary might read: 'I worry that declining work will damage the relationship. Twice recently, I explained at length and then accepted anyway. I drafted a shorter refusal but haven't used it yet. Next time, I want to explore the moment when anticipating the response makes me overexplain.' This provides a direction for the next conversation without naming a workplace or another person.

  1. Read the summary and correct factual errors or overly certain conclusions.
  2. Remove names, contact details, workplace identifiers and other people's private information that the next exchange does not need.
  3. Review the destination service's privacy information and paste only the part you choose to share.
  4. Add an opening preference: 'From this summary, this is the part I want to discuss today.'

If you want to continue with Maeumi

After going through Maeumi's intake, you can paste the summary you prepared into your first conversation. This does not give Maeumi automatic access to another AI account's history. Subsequent Maeumi sessions are designed to continue with context from earlier sessions. See the first-session guide, and use the guide to asking for listening before advice to describe the kind of exchange you want.

Frequently asked questions

Wouldn't the entire chat be more accurate?
A full history may include unrelated information and other people's private details. You can add a missing piece when it becomes relevant, but transferring more information is not the goal by itself. Begin with a summary you have checked and add context deliberately.
