Feelings word list — find words close to your emotions

When 'I feel bad' doesn't quite say it, try a few words and a moment that comes to mind. There is no correct answer to find. Choose what feels close, even when different feelings exist together.

Pass along the tool. Your choices and writing are not included.

Choose any words that are close, even if they seem to conflict. These are everyday words grouped by the CareOps editorial team to make browsing easier. Your choices and writing stay in this page; refreshing clears them.

1. Choose words close to your feelings

Choose as many as you need, or leave them blank. A word can mean something different to each person.

Feeling more settled
Brighter feelings
Feeling on edge
Tender or sad feelings
Feeling frustrated
Mixed or hard-to-place feelings

For example: I wanted to speak in a meeting, but the conversation moved on. You can leave out names and identifying details.

For example: I'd like someone to listen before suggesting what to do. This box can stay blank too.

Your words, ready to copy

The note simply combines your choices and words. Edit it in your own voice wherever you keep it. It does not score or interpret your mental state.

If a word doesn't quite fit

You can describe a body sensation or a moment instead, or come back later. For more self-help exercises, see the World Health Organization's illustrated stress guide. The word list and note builder here are CareOps editorial tools.
