Deleting your account
How to delete your account and data in CareOps for Counsel, an app provided by SafeOps.
This English text is provided for convenience. The Korean version is the original and governs if the two differ.
Deleting it in the app
- Open the app and log in.
- Go to the You tab at the bottom → Settings.
- At the very bottom, tap Delete account.
- Read what will be deleted and what will remain, then tap Delete my account.
It takes effect the moment you tap, and cannot be undone.
Asking us by email
If you cannot get into the app, write to thomaskim104@safeops.kr with the username you signed up with. We verify who you are, complete the deletion within 7 business days of receiving the request, and write back to confirm.
What gets deleted
Everything you created in the app is deleted immediately — 65 categories in all, including:
- Your AI counselling conversations, their session and care-course records, and the summaries, memories and readings made from them
- Mood records, answers to the daily question, what you wrote about yourself, thought records, safety plans, values notes
- Practice check-offs, attempts and reviews, session prep cards, session feedback
- Notification settings, push tokens, conversation settings
- Login account details (username, email, phone number)
For voice conversations, your voice is never sent to our servers in the first place. Recognition happens on your device and only text reaches the conversation, so there is no recording to delete.
What remains
Counselling records written by your counselor remain — session notes, transcripts, assessment response sheets, appointment and payment records. These are documents a counselor must retain under law and professional ethics, so closing your account does not delete them.
Their link to your account is severed, however: after deletion they can no longer be retrieved through your account. The retention period follows the record-keeping policy of the organisation that provided the counselling, which destroys them when that period ends.
To have counselling records deleted, ask the organisation where you received counselling directly. If you are not sure who that is, write to thomaskim104@safeops.kr.
Counselor accounts (CareOps for counselors)
A counselor account has counselling records attached to it that must be retained by law, so it is not deleted in the app — we act on a request instead.
- In the counselor app, tap More at the bottom → Settings (on a computer, Settings) → Request account deletion.
- Put your login username in the email that opens. If you cannot use the app, write to thomaskim104@safeops.kr with your username instead.
After verifying who you are, we delete the login account details (username, name, email) and notification tokens within 7 business days and write back to confirm. Session notes, transcripts, assessment sheets and appointment records are counselling records the organisation must retain by law, and follow that organisation’s retention policy.
As session audio is not stored on our servers, there is no recording file for us to delete. Files saved through ‘keep a copy of the recording’ exist only on the counselor’s device — delete them there. Recordings waiting in the transcription queue (made outside the transcription server’s hours) are likewise only in the phone’s app storage, and are removed by ‘delete’ in the queue or by uninstalling the app.
Deleting some data without closing your account
If you want only part of your data deleted — for example your AI conversations while keeping your account — write to thomaskim104@safeops.kr saying which items. We handle it on the same terms (within 7 business days).
